I used the GearIT 14-2 speaker wire as part of my install when wiring my basement theater for surround sound. The GearIT wires were easy to work with, of high-quality construction, and sound great!

This wire is easy to work with as it is very flexible for 14 gauge. Oxygen Free Copper wire provides the best level of conductivity according to the experts, but it is hard to tell the difference in sound quality, but the price point of this wire it was well worth the upgrade.

I'm not sure what else to say here. It did the job of hooking up my subwoofer and two front channel speakers to my receiver. I'm not a crazy audiophile so I can't attest if this makes any difference with the quality of the sound, but for my purposes it's exactly what I needed and certainly a lot better quality than the wire I've used in the past.

2 conductor pure copper, not CCA and true to size. These 14AWG conductors were thin diameter multistrand so they make a great connection. I used them separately so I stripped them from the white outer jacket which was simple with a razor blade. Quality 2 conductor wire in a PVC jacket.

NOT 14 AWG wire. Maybe both wires together would be 14, but each wire is either 16 or 18. The close-up pic of the wire looks nothing like the actual wire.

I purchased these on May 1,2025 and already the red and black wire insulator is cracking and I will have to replace them and throw these out. I also concur with some other reviewers that these are not 14 gauge. Not at all good quality or good value.

I think that the wire is good quality, but I wound up using some wire that I already had after stripping some of this back and then comparing it with my old 14 gauge wire. I did not get out a caliper and measure it, but by feel and visual comparison it did not seem to be as heavy as my old wire.

It’s not 14 gauge, not even close. It’s great price for 14 gauge wire except it’s not. It’s over priced for 18 gauge wire, which is what it is.

It's a pretty hefty speaker cable. The curls in the cable, when taking it from the spools, are very hard to get out. It doesn't lay flat. If your looking for a speaker cable for your family room and will have the cord on the carpet, this wouldn't be a good choice. For inside the walls and ceiling, this would be a good choice. The cheaper 16 gauge, is great. It works great and lays flat on your carpet with ease.

Im currently installing over 50 speaker pairs in 4 zones in this remodel. This is a great value for money. The wire pulls easy outside of the box. It is very flexible. and so far we have not seen any internal breaks in the cable. Great value

First and foremost, let me start by saying that I would rate the actual product quality a 4 out of 5 stars.
Furthermore, the reason for a 1 star rating is due to the fact that a week after placing my order, I found out one of my items was actually on backorder order according to the online order status. This was in NOT the case when I placed my order. I reached out to customer service and was informed that it would be approximately 1 week before they had it back in stock and would be able to ship.
Roughly 3 weeks later and it still showed backordered. I decided to follow up with customer service for the second and received the same information.
Almost 1.5 months after placing my order, I received an email stating that some of my items had been funded and the order was cancelled… I already went through the trouble and wasted this much time, just for it to automatically be cancelled. Not to mention, I also used a 25% off code when the order was initially placed which was no longer active.
10 days later I received an email stating the items were back in stock. Great news, but my order was unfortunately canceled automatically and the 25% off code was no longer good. I reached out to customer service again and after going back-and-forth a few times, they were able to provide a discount code that honored my initial 25% off, if I wanted to place my order again. As if they were doing me a favor by honoring my initial purchase price when it was their fault that I did not receive my order.
This far from made up for the lost time and trouble I experienced. It also caused significant delays with my equipment installation and having to reschedule appointments.
Overall rough experience for me. Hopefully this is not a common practice and others have better luck.

I almost gave it 4 stars cuz I'm not 100% on the gauge being accurate. I have some 16 gauge kicker wire from a long time ago left and it's barely thicker. Granted I don't have a measuring tool so the kicker wire could be over sized but no matter what this wire is close enough to right if not exactly right. But even if it was slightly under for I think $13 it's still a very very good price so if I could verify it was 14 gauge exactly I would give 6 stars

How do I choose the right length?
Measure the path the wire will actually follow, around furniture, along baseboards or through walls, then add 10–15% for slack. If you're between two lengths, go longer.
What gauge speaker wire do I need?
Under 50 ft, 16 AWG is fine. For 50–100 ft or higher-power amps, step up to 14 AWG. For runs over 100 ft or subwoofers, use 12 AWG. In-wall installs need a CL2 or CL3 jacket.
Can I run this speaker wire in walls?

Is OFC better than CCA?
Oxygen-free copper has lower resistance than copper-clad aluminum, which matters most on long runs and at higher power. CCA is a budget option for short indoor runs.
