Very good wire

I'm sure this is a good product and I am changing this review to reflect that I was sent a low grade product and not what I bought - I bought the full copper speaker wire and I was sent the copper plated aluminum wire - I had to return this and rebuy it from a different source for fear they would just keep sending me the wrong item.I’ve used a lot of speaker wire over the years, and this **GEARit 14 Gauge Speaker Wire (100 ft, UL CL3, UV rated)** really stands out.First thing you notice is the **build quality**. This is true 14-gauge wire — not undersized, not flimsy. It has a solid, substantial feel, which is exactly what you want for clean, reliable signal transfer, especially over longer runs.The **CL3 rating** is a big deal if you’re running wire through walls or doing a more permanent install. It gives you peace of mind knowing it meets safety standards and is designed for that kind of use.Another huge plus is the **UV-resistant jacket**. I ran part of this outdoors, and it’s clearly built to handle the elements without breaking down or getting brittle over time. That’s something a lot of cheaper wire just can’t handle.Installation was easy — the jacket strips cleanly, and the wire is flexible enough to route through tight spots without fighting you, but still sturdy enough that it doesn’t feel fragile.Performance-wise, everything sounds great. Clean signal, no noise issues, and consistent quality across the entire run.Bottom line:This is dependable, well-built speaker wire that works just as well for home theater setups as it does for outdoor or in-wall installs.If you want something you can install once and not worry about again, this is a great choice.

Used to run lights for my bed rack. Good quality wire, flexible. Time will tell how it holds up to elements.

This is some awesome cable. Full copper, thick but pliable outer jacket and the single pair insulation is almost comparable to MTW. My only criticism, is the linear foot increments printed on the outer jacket starts at 100 feet. Like many other wire mfrs, typically the tag end starts at 1’. Doesn’t bother me as I’m going to pull what I need regardless plus some, but for some it may be useful to have your spools start at 1’. Im only sending 30w RMS through this 14-2 down a 70’ run between active outdoor speakers without a hiccup. I would recommend their product to everyone. Worth the little extra cost for sure.

One roll was damaged during shipping making it difficult to untwist and make long runs.

The conductors look fine. You should be a aware that the conductors are not really jacketed as shown on the Amazon site. See photo. They are embedded in the plastic that surrounds them. Thus when trying to strip off the outer “jacket” it’s very easy to accidentally cut the conductor. You have to very slightly press into the material with your razor, bend the wire, slightly press again, and repeat many times to ensure that you stay clear of the wires embedded therein. Perhaps this extra insulation is a benefit, I have no idea, but it is much more tedious than just stripping / peeling the outer jacket as one would normally do with other wires. Once freed, it’s easy to slide off, but if you need a longer exposed conductors it could be difficult.

The product photo is of a loose jacketed material, the product sent is embedded. Much harder to work with. Also stiff and hard to pull, curls really bad.

I noticed the wire seemed thin. Compared it to existing 14GA in-wall speaker wire I have and the difference is huge. I measured the diameter of the actual copper with a micrometer and this is .058" which is 16GA wire. It should be .073" in diameter per American Wire Gauge standards. In every other way the wire seems nice, the jacket is thick but use a razor knife and take your time. It makes great in-wall wire for shorter runs as it's 16GA.

Beware that this is essentially a single, 7mm thick cable.I needed to run four to six of these through a large cable raceway, alongside one or two others. For this gauge I'd expect a thickness of maybe 3mm x 6mm, and I estimated that there'd be plenty of room. Unfortunately, these are much, much thicker than the pictures suggest. There isn't a jacket and instead they are overmolded, so they can't be squashed flat and it's essentially a single cable with a 7mm diameter. The attached picture shows it side-by-side with another (16-gauge) speaker cable.I'm sure they're great for outdoor use, or if you only have a couple of speakers, but if you're running multiple cables indoors like I am then there are probably more practical options. They do seem decent quality and sturdy, but I'm only giving a 3-star review because the pictures and description aren't entirely accurate.

Havebtbreally triedbit yet but seems like good quakity wire and well insulated. Will uodate inns couole days when my gaming chair gets here and i install the tranducer alome with my 5.1 sony surround sound system.

I purchased 2 100ft rolls to make long attic runs on a new build for in-ceiling speakers. After I've made the runs, naturally, I find a splice at the end of the last run. Not sure how I feel about it. If it's a solid splice done correctly it won't make a difference but how many others are there I missed and if I didn't mind splices in the runs, I could have done that myself and purchased less wire. Don't recall ever seeing a splices within spools of other speaker wire I've run in the past so I don't think it's a common practice, nor should it be.

Nice wireI liked it best for its black color as my ceiling is black. Mine was CL-3 rated for in wall use

Great product, works great for my instals, wire gauge is perfect size, has a lot of cable easy to use, looks great easy instal looks professional and amazing price for the product.

Maybe I got a bad spool or something, but there is an audible hiss with this cable compared to others that I have. Made a few 50 foot cables out of it using Neutrik SpeakON connectors, and it clearly hisses at normal volumes, not even loud ones. Price was too good to be true, so I'll stay away in the future.

Good wire. Just what I needed. Speakers sound great. Should have bought this wire a long time ago.

Good insulation and quality. I was mounting some outdoor speakers under the covered portion of my deck it , the wire will not be completly exposed to the elements but if they do get a little wet the insulation should be plenty thick to protect them....

Firm cable of fine quality. Used for 30m distanced speakers. Note that they are a bit wider than regular speakers cables

Good product. be careful skinning outer jacket so not to damage inner wires. nice protection for wires in an automotive setting.

Took me a month of troubleshooting and digging up speaker wire outside only to find that about 15’ from the end the wire was faulty. Ended up systematically checking it at every length for a single. Very disappointed and past refund period now.
