Description

Pick the right gauge and length for the job. GEARit SJTW outdoor extension cords come in 10, 12, 14 and 16 gauge and 25, 50 and 100 ft lengths, all with a weather-resistant SJTW jacket, grounded 3-prong NEMA 5-15 plug and a lighted female end.

  • 10 gauge (10/3, 15A 1875W, 100 ft): extra heavy duty for long runs – air compressors, table saws, miter saws, shop vacuums and pressure washers.
  • 12 gauge (12/3, 15A 1875W, 25/50/100 ft): heavy duty for power tools and yard equipment – circular saws, miter saws, pressure washers, electric mowers and leaf blowers.
  • 14 gauge (14/3, 25/50 ft 15A 1875W; 100 ft 13A 1625W): medium duty for garage and yard work – drills, sanders, shop vacuums, hedge trimmers.
  • 16 gauge (16/3, 13A 1625W, 25/50/100 ft): light duty for patio, holiday and landscape lights, fans, TVs and small electronics.

Copper conductors for efficient power over distance. High-conductivity copper helps control resistance loss and voltage drop across the run when the connected equipment stays within the cord's rating.

SJTW all-weather jacket. Rated for -40°F to 130°F, the jacket stays ready through rain, moisture and temperature swings. Do not submerge.

Lighted end and high-visibility yellow. The illuminated female end shows when power reaches the connection, and the bright yellow jacket is easy to spot on grass, concrete and job sites.

ETL listed, backed by GEARit. Grounded 3-prong design, ETL Listing and a GEARit Lifetime Warranty with customer support.

Choosing length: 25 ft for nearby outlets, 50 ft for everyday yard and garage use, 100 ft for long-reach outdoor power. For longer runs or higher loads, step up to a thicker (lower number) gauge.

Lighted 3-Prong Outdoor Extension Cord Details

Lighted end, grounded plug, SJTW jacket, high-visibility yellow

Every GEARit SJTW cord shares the same build: an illuminated female end that shows when power reaches the connection, a grounded 3-prong NEMA 5-15 plug, a weather-resistant SJTW jacket rated for -40°F to 130°F and a bright yellow finish with printed cord specs that is easy to spot on grass, concrete and job sites.

10/3 and 12/3 Heavy Duty for Power Tools

Saws, compressors, pressure washers and yard equipment

Thicker 10 and 12 gauge copper conductors carry 15A over longer runs with less voltage drop. Choose 12/3 for circular saws, miter saws, pressure washers and electric mowers, and 10/3 at 100 ft for air compressors, table saws and heavy shop vacuums.

14/3 for Yard Work and Garage Tools

Medium-duty power for everyday outdoor tasks

The 14 gauge cord is the all-round option for drills, sanders, shop vacuums, hedge trimmers and leaf blowers across the garage, driveway and nearby yard.

Outdoor extension cord powering a patio setup

16/3 for Patio and Holiday Lights

Light-duty 16 gauge (13A, 125V) is sized for Christmas and landscape lights, patio lights, fans, TVs and small electronics, with 25, 50 or 100 ft of reach across the yard.

Extension cord LED power indicator shows on/off status

Easy and Safe to Use in the Dark

The bright jacket color combines with built-in LED indicators on the 3-prong connectors to make this extension cord the perfect solution in dark environments.

Good quality outdoor extension cord with a useful lighted end

There's only so much you can say about an extension cord: it works well, nothing shorted out, nobody was electrocuted, and everyone survived its use. Five stars already off to a strong start.Seriously, though, this is a good quality 25-foot outdoor extension cord. It feels substantial and well made without being unnecessarily difficult to handle, and the 25-foot length gives you plenty of reach for most everyday outdoor projects.I especially like the lighted end. It's a simple feature, but it's convenient to be able to quickly confirm that the cord has power. The bright yellow color also makes it easy to see when you're using it outside.Mine has held up well outdoors and worked exactly as expected. At around $27, the price seems fair for the length and quality. It's a good, straightforward extension cord that does precisely what an extension cord is supposed to do, and, once again, nobody died. Five Stars!

Perfect Extension Cord for Corded Power Equipment

The GEARit Heavy Duty Indoor/Outdoor 50ft Extension Cord is a well-made easy to use electric extension cord. The cord is made with heavy 12AWG, 15A wiring with a thick outer sheathing. Considering the heavy gauge and thick sheathing, I was happy to see that the extension cord is fairly lightweight and very flexible. The male and female ends are molded around the ends of the wiring, ensuring a strong, waterproof seal.I tested the extension cord with a few different pieces of power equipment, and it worked flawlessly. Some of the tests were on my driveway asphalt in over 90deg(f) weather and there was no damage to the cord. The length of the GEARit cord is great when equipment needs to be used a distance away from power outlets. I liked the fact that the female end of the cord lights up when it is plugged into an outlet, making it easy to tell that the power is live. The GEARit Heavy Duty Indoor/Outdoor 50ft Extension Cord is perfect for use with indoor and outdoor power equipment. It is strong, flexible, lightweight, and a great length.

Impressive 14-gauge voltage delivery with a handy lit end

I needed a solid 14/3 extension cord for lighter-duty jobs around the farm where hauling out a heavy 12-gauge is overkill. Figured I'd test it out to see how it handles a load: hooked up a 1500W hair dryer for a minute and checked the voltage drop at the end with my meter. The numbers tracked right where they should for 14-gauge wire—which tells me they're using real copper instead of cheap copper-clad aluminum that sags under a draw. Funny enough, out of all the GearIt cords I've got laying around that use red or orange indicator lights on the end, this one actually has a green LED. Makes it pretty easy to spot when it's live. Overall, it's a good cord that does what it's supposed to do.

Solid 12-gauge performance with great build quality

To test this 50 ft 12/3 heavy-duty cord, I hooked up a 1500W hair dryer as the load and used a watt meter in voltage mode to take readings at the end of the cord after letting it run for approximately 1 minute. Two other GearIt cords I own were also a part of this test alongside it, with "Other" representing another quality brand used for comparison.Starting source voltage: 121.6 VPower outlet (under load): 118.5 VLoad: 1500 WCord length: 50 ftTest Results:12 AWG (Other): Calculated 116.1 V | Actual Measured 115.8 V12 AWG (GearIt): Calculated 116.1 V | Actual Measured 116.5 V14 AWG (GearIt): Calculated 114.6 V | Actual Measured 114.9 V16 AWG (GearIt): Calculated 112.4 V | Actual Measured 111.7 VMy testing across these different gauges and lengths shows their specs line up with what they should be, which goes to show they must be using good quality pure copper wire. I already own a 25 ft 12-gauge GearIt cord that has held up wonderfully to being used and left outside for a long time, with its end light still working perfectly. On top of that, I've run some of their Ethernet cables outside for years now, and they continue to hold up exceptionally well. This brand consistently delivers reliable gear. Great quality.

Rugged, Heavy Duty Extension Cord

This 50 feet extension cord is build to last. The cord is thick and heavy with a with waterproof outer cover. Despite being thick, it could very easily which is impressive. The bright yellow color helps it find in dark . The 3 prong connection is secured in a heavy plastic which also lights up when it's connected. This is a very useful extension cord if you are working in garage or yard. It's made to safely use outdoors in extreme weather. The 50 feet length is appropriate to reach to the far end of our yard. We can connect a lot of small tools to this cord. We had to put up an outdoor camera and we used this extension to plug in the drill machine. When not in use just roll it and store.

Heavy-Duty Cord With a Bright, Lighted End

This is a nice extension cord that fully met my expectations. The 14/3 SJTW cable feels slightly thicker and more substantial than most standard outdoor cords, which is what I would expect from a heavier-duty 14-gauge cord. I measured the outer diameter at approximately 8.76 mm.I used the 25-foot cord with my Sawzall to cut wood and it worked great. The receptacle end gripped the saw's plug securely without feeling loose. The length is useful for garage tools, lawn equipment, yard tasks, and other jobs where only a relatively short reach is needed.I really like extension cords with lighted ends. The light makes the end easier to locate and immediately confirms that the cord has power. The bright yellow jacket is also much easier to see around a garage or yard than the more common orange extension cords.Overall, this feels like a well-made, heavy-duty outdoor extension cord that should work well for power tools and general outdoor use.

Excellent Quality!

Excellent quality, well made, light duty extension cord. It’s so well made I thought it was a heavier duty cord by feel. I didn’t read product information before trying it out (my bad) so we used it for a small air compressor, which it’s apparently not rated for. It worked fine but we won’t do that again. This leads into what for me is the downside. It’s a relatively expensive extension cord for only being light duty. Because of its light duty rating, we can’t use it for most of the things we need an outdoor extension cord for ... chainsaw, compressor, weed whacker, lawnmower, saw, etc. For indoor use, it is too “heavy duty feeling” (and looking) for my taste.I still gave it four stars because the quality is top notch. The bright yellow color is great to avoid accidental trips or snags. The lighted end is also nice for easily locating the joint of the two cords and helps using it at dusk or in the dark. Judging from the look and feel, I would expect this cord to last a long time. Even though it won’t work for our outdoor needs, if anyone needs an extension cord for light duty outdoor items like lights or fans, I would highly recommend. As for indoor use, it’s just an aesthetics issue for me in not wanting a thick yellow extension cord inside.

Excellent Quality Extension Cords — So Good I Got Five More of Various Gauge and Length…

I am writing this review for the 50ft Heavy duty 14/3version of the extension cord, but came back and got 5 more of various size and gauge. I plan to copy this review into each of the other versions I got, but do not know if Amazon will flag it thinking I am some kind of bot or something; I am not a bot, these are really nice extension cords….I got this extension cord and was so impressed with the quality that I went back and got five more in different lengths and gauges to replace older cords and add new sizes to my shop. The additional cords I got were:GearIT 50 Ft 16/3 Gauge Outdoor/Indoor SJTW Extension CordGearIT 100 Ft 16/3 Gauge Outdoor/Indoor SJTW Extension CordGearIT 25 Ft 14/3 Gauge Outdoor/Indoor SJTW Extension CordGearIT 50 Ft 14/3 Gauge Outdoor/Indoor SJTW Extension CordGearIT 25 Ft 12/3 Gauge Outdoor/Indoor SJTW Extension CordGearIT 50 Ft 12/3 Gauge Outdoor/Indoor SJTW Extension CordThese are extremely high-quality extension cords. The materials feel premium, the construction is excellent, and they have the outdoor-use durability you expect from a heavy-duty outdoor cord. I use extension cords for work projects, lawn equipment, tools, and general projects around the house, and these have held up very well. One of my favorite features is the illuminated outlet end. The light lets you know the cord is receiving power, which is a simple but incredibly useful feature. It also makes the cord much easier to find in the dark. The bright yellow color is another great design choice because it stands out against grass, leaves, concrete, and carpet, helping reduce the chance of someone missing the cord and creating a trip hazard.I also appreciate that GearIT offers so many different lengths and gauges. Whether I need a lighter-duty cord for lights or a thick, heavy gauge cord for power tools and equipment, it is easy to choose the right cord for the job instead of trying to make one cord do everything. The heavier gauge cords are thick and can handle the heavy draw of power from my table saw and other big, outdoor equipment without heating up. These are perfect for outdoor uses like running power from a portable generator. The cords are flexible, easy to handle, and feel like they are built to last. The attention to detail and overall quality are noticeably better than many of the extension cords I have owned in the past.Overall, I highly recommend these GearIT extension cords. The Yellow One I Won't Mow Over Again

For years I had a green extension cord running from my house out to my raised garden beds. I loved that it blended right into the grass—right up until this spring, when I wasn't paying attention and ran it through with the lawnmower. It got shredded badly enough that saving it wasn't worth the trouble, and for an outdoor cord that needs real weather protection, patching it was never going to cut it.This GEARit cord turned out to be the perfect replacement, and honestly it fixed the one mistake my old setup invited. At 100 feet it easily reaches out to the garden beds, and the bright yellow jacket is impossible to miss against the lawn. That visibility is exactly what I was after this time—so I don't forget where the cord is running and end up hacking through another one.I mainly use it to power some lights out by the beds in the late evenings, and the 13-amp rating handles that plus a couple of light strings without any trouble. It's a standard extension cord in most respects, but the build feels solid and it's rated waterproof, which matters since it lives outside. The plug ends on both sides look really well made, and the lighted connector is a nice touch—it makes it easy to confirm everything is actually connected and getting power. If you need a long outdoor cord for lighting or general yard use and you want something you'll actually see out there, this is a good pick. It feels well made, it reaches far, and I expect it to last a good while. This time around, the high visibility is the whole point—and this one delivers it.
