GEARit Cat8 Outdoor Flat Ethernet Cable goes where round outdoor cable will not. The slim flat profile threads through part-filled conduit, slides under siding and door frames, and lays flush to walls, while the LLDPE jacket is rated for direct burial and in-ground installation. Nine lengths from 3 to 50 ft, every one factory-terminated and ready to plug in.
Specifications: Cat8 FTP flat cable, oxygen-free pure copper conductors, 2000MHz bandwidth, up to 40 Gbps, PoE ready, shielded snagless RJ45 connectors, LLDPE outdoor jacket, UV resistant, waterproof, direct burial rated. Black, 3 / 6 / 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 / 40 / 50 ft.
Oxygen-free copper, 2000MHz, up to 40 Gbps
Oxygen-free copper conductors carry up to 40 Gbps at 2000MHz with none of the signal loss of copper-clad aluminum. Shielded snagless RJ45 connectors are backward compatible with Cat7, Cat6, and Cat5e gear.
Power cameras, access points, and NVRs over one cable
Pure copper conductors carry PoE and PoE+ reliably on exterior runs, so a security camera, outdoor access point, or NVR needs only one cable for data and power. Foil shielding keeps the signal stable next to power lines, HVAC condensers, pool equipment, and fluorescent lighting.
UV resistant, waterproof LLDPE jacket
The LLDPE jacket is engineered for sun, rain, snow, and temperature swings and is rated for direct burial. Run it along a fence, under a deck, through conduit, or bury it in a trench to a shed, camera, or outbuilding. Backed by the GEARit limited lifetime warranty.
Built to be buried, run through conduit, or left exposed on a wall or fence. The waterproof, UV-resistant LLDPE jacket resists cracking and weathering year after year.
Thinner and lighter than round outdoor cable, the flat profile threads through part-filled conduit, slides under siding and door frames, and lays flush to walls instead of bulging away.
Since switching my home internet connection to fiber, I've started upgrading all of my CAT5, CAT5e, and CAT6 cables to CAT8. My internet speed is now 2 GBPS, which can be handled by a CAT7, but I chose CAT8 to future proof my internet connection. I prefer wired connections on my computers, streaming devices, and game consoles at home since they are more reliable. This is not the first time I've used an ethernet cable from this brand; I've used them several times over the years and have had no problems with any of them. I ordered this 50ft cable to run from the router on the first floor to my home office on the second floor to get the wired connection that I needed for my computer. The shortest way to make this connection was to drill one hole in each floor, run the cable through the wall to the outside, and then back inside through my office wall. I secured it to the exterior wall with clips, and because it is flat, it bends easily. I have been using this cable for over a month and couldn't be happier. Great product.
Flat, low-profile combined with a rugged build is perfect for hiding the cable and run it underground in the backyard... though I had to be careful I don't hit any hidden gas/electrical lines! What I did was have a solar-powered battery in the backyard, powering up when I need it a wifi hub where the signals are relayed through the provided ethernet back into the house. No need to run a second cable just for the power!Great length, good rugged build, perfect for my needs. The internet was unfortunately 1gig fiber so the ethernet cable only did up to that where we needed outside transmission, but as for internal network? Transferring video files was a breeze with the infrastructure already capable of 2.5Gig, and further expanded to the outside thanks to this ethernet cable.
GearIT provides a quality addition to your IT hardware cabling. This 30 foot flat Cat 8 cable is rugged, about 2x thicker than a traditional flat Cat 5 cable and much more rigid. The cabling will bend with ease, as the rigidity is due to the shielding around each twisted-pair wire and the plastic that makes up the jacket around all the twisted pairs. There was no degradation of signal when switching over from a standard Cat 5 cable, but I didn't see any noticeable increase either. I think it's due to the modem/router throughput limits and the fact that signal over 30 feet of cabling really has no advantage or disadvantage. If I had high-speed hardware to allow for more throughput, I assume the Cat 8 would then sustain it.I'm using the cable for indoor use, but would feel very comfortable to bury it outside or put it in walls or the attic due to it's ruggedness. I highly recommend!
Normally outdoor Cat 8 shielded patch cables are thick, round, and highly inflexible. This is not as limp as a Cat 5e/6 cable, but it is just as good. The flat design makes it easy to run around corners because you can fold this cable at 90* angles, which you can’t do with the traditional round cables. It also gives it a low profile and easier to run behind objects. If you’re running it in the ground, I don’t think the design makes an improvement, to the contrary a traditional rounded design is better because it has more protection and is better able to deflect accidental cuts from a shovel. However, his design is amazing for indoor use or crawling up walls. I just wish they sold this in different color options like white or tan, that blend in more to standard wall colors. The sizing was fine. I ordered this in size 50’. I measured it out and it was 50’, 3” in total length. The measurement of 50’ was exact to the edges of the cable, not included the ethernet connectors. The ethernet connectors added an additional 3 inches. In summary, excellent design which is an improvement for most use cases (other than underground use). Works fine, flexible and bendable, good quality, and lightweight. I just wish they had more color options.
I have the Cat6, Cat7, and Cat8 cables from these guys, and they are all excellent and true to speed. They are nicely thick, can be buried, and hold their shape around corners. The clips are heavy duty, easy to take out and put in. Great cables for the price, well made, good company and warranty, you can even bury these things outside. well done guys for IT pros and novices alike. future proof cabling
I got this CAT 8 cable to upgrade from the Cat cable that came with my router in order to make sure I'm maximizing the speed. This cable is high quality and durable, made for outdoors which wasn't necessary for me but happy to have the quality cable. The Jacks are metal and sturdy, I have no complaints about this cable, it works great and provides the speed I needed to my wireless router.
This arrived quickly and nicely packaged. This is a very nice, high-quality ethernet cable. Upon initial inspection, I noticed that the cable does not have a round shape rather it is flat which is great because it blends well with my desk, floor and walls. This actual cable is thick in a good way and is made with very nice high-quality materials. This is true to being 15 ft in length. When looking at this and feeling it, you know that this is made very well and will do a great job. This cable will not break easily. The black covering is thick and smooth and can withstand all types of environmental factors. This can be used outside however, this will be used inside for my home office. Each end of this has the ethernet has gold plated jacks that feel solid. This works well in my office and I have had no internet connection issues. This is definitely worth a try. When working from home, you don't want to buy the cheapest items you can find because you do get what you pay for and this is definitely worth every penny.
This 3-foot cable was just the right length to reach from my PC to my router without extra cable length to manage. Construction is solid, and performance is right at the limit of my equipment on my gigabit fiber internet, getting a reliable 950Mbps up/down speed on my 5800X3D AM4 system.
The GearIT Cat 8 flat Ethernet cable uses the standard RJ-45 connector, so it is easy to replace existing Cat5 & Cat6 cables with this Cat8. The RJ-45 connectors have an enhanced clip-protector that protects the clip from breaking much better than the older cables that I've been using up until now. The flat cable itself makes it seems to resist tangling that is common with the round cables. I've changed out my handmade Cat5 cable with this one, and the connection is solid and fast for my Gigabit Internet connection and I can now say that I am ready to upgrade to 2.5Gb or faster Internet. The photo in this review is a speed test performed during the day from a home office, and I can't imagine the speed being any faster from the 1Gb Internet connection. Very nice cable.
I ordered this to go between the wall ethernet jack and an ethernet outdoor rated switch. This was a quality cable and ready for outdoor use. Shortly after it was installed we had a tropical storm and it weathered blowing rains well. Speeds are as expected from the 300 Mbps source to the end devices.
I ordered this for use with my home theater projector unit, Up until now I've been using a CAT 6 cable and it wasn't very good, as I was getting digital noise on the output side of my projector. As soon as I switched to this CAT 8 cable it worked flawlessly. It provides a solid data connection between my HDMI extenders. Its flat profile made it easy to run under my area rug so it's not visible. It feels well constructed and has metal connectors. I'm not sure what the maximum throughput is, but it's excellent for sending encoded 1080p video data to the HDMI receiver over a 20ft distance without any digital noise or artifacts. I highly recommend this brand.
It seemed like it was not fifteen feet in reality but I might be wrong. I measured the distance it needed to cover and it barely made it for some strange reason. Here are some pros and cons.Pros:- It has a flat profile. This means that the cable will be more amendable to being bent if the need arises.- The rated Category 8 speed is 2000 MHz. This should result in faster speeds if your ISP can deliver and if your computer can take those speeds. Note that these two factors influence the actual speed at which data is delivered.Cons:- Did not feel like 15 feet in length. I did not measure it, but I did measure the distance it needed to cover and for some reason it was almost unable to cover that needed distance.Overall, I do recommend this Cat 8 outdoor, flat ethernet cable.
I used this cat8 to replace my cat6 Ethernet cable. The cat8 is much easier to handle since it’s flat, and I was able to run it along the wall very easily. The length was perfect for the application I needed and since it’s cat8 I should be able to use it for quite some time.
Cat 8 cable is probably overkill for most home needs but my ISP (Infinity) has just upgraded my service to 2 Gbps. I decided to try this cable out on my 1 Gbps network and maybe I will need its speed capabilities in the not too distant future. I used it to connect a Gigabit switch to my home network (wired with Cat 6 cable) and it performs with zero issues. It's slightly stiff but that's not a big deal I think. The cable itself has a nice fabric finish and the connectors seem sturdy and functional. Recommended.
I ordered this cable to have an all purpose rugid cable I could run for direct bury IP cameras. This cable is exceptionally good quality and checks off all the possible boxes you could ask for.It is cat 8 compliant meaning it can do 40gpbs and has full shielding and shielded through connections. While it can do that, it's still backwards compatible.I love the quality of the connection and molding of the shell into the cable. it's solid with no loose molding and provides a very solid seating into a receptacle. There is strain relief molded into the shell and the housing is premium material and build quality.A nice added feature is this is a flat profile. so this can be run evenly to a surface and keeps a low profile. The quality of outer insulation is abrasive resistant and has a durable texture. This cable is rated for direct burial and for running 100feet. I plan to use this to run IP cameras out to the corners of my yard with a direct bury. This is an absolute best type of cable you can possibly get as it checks off all boxes and all features that exist in an ethernet cable. type 8, direct bury, flat profile, high end materials.I can't think of a single negative thing to say about this cable and would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone wanting an ultra high end quality ethernet cable.
This looks like a pretty nice quality cable. The ends are quality looking as well. It comes coiled and except for one issue it would be a 5 star cable. Mine unwound to have a very sharp bend in one section that concerned me that it could be damaged. It does not seem to be.
I'm not using this buried outside or anything but mostly just to connect my modem to my router. It is so much higher quality than my previous ethernet cable (that I must've gotten randomly from a random box from years ago). It very crisply snaps into place and holds tight, I had issues where my previous one didn't snap at all and kept falling out. With the flat cable I was able to hide it behind furniture without it bulging out and keeps everything nice and tidy.No way for me to test the max speed on this thing unless you're on the best fiber available on the planet (cat 5e is enough for what I have) but I'm getting no issues with ping and speed. Love it, you can't go wrong with this. I'll probably grab some of these if I need to route it buried outside to make a mesh network.
